Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT ARE UNCLAIMED ASSETS?

There are many types of unclaimed assets including shares, bank accounts, insurance policies and inheritances. These assets are currently in the care of a custodian who has lost track of the rightful owner. The rightful owner may have lost track of the asset or may even be unaware that they are able to claim the asset.

I MANAGE MY FINANCES CAREFULLY AND I’VE NEVER LOST ANYTHING. HOW COULD AN ASSET BE MISSING?

We hear this from a number of our clients. There are many reasons an asset can become lost, forgotten or unclaimed such as death, divorce, change of address or ill health. In many cases, some of our clients did not even know the asset existed

HOW DOES THE SEARCH WORK?

There are currently over one hundred thousand records of unclaimed assets in the search environment, and we are working to continually refresh and increase the records. Your search may result in one of 3 outcomes:

1. No result found – unfortunately the name you searched on did not return a result for a lost asset in our search environment, please try a variation of the name you entered or another persons name.

     OR

2. A positive result redirecting you to the website of the custodian of the asset – in this case we feel it is appropriate to redirect you to the custodian of the unclaimed asset for you to claim yourself at no fee from us, as we believe we won’t add further value to the process.

     OR

3. A positive result redirecting you to provide contact details to our sister company, Rightful Claims, a division of Worthington Clark Pty Limited, who will further investigate the details of the asset, or consolidate a number of lost assets and contact you with information on how to identify and recover the assets for a fee.

Search Tip – Use full name or names, don’t use symbols, salutations or single letters.

WHY DON’T YOU SHOW WHAT THE ASSET IS AND THE VALUE?

Our database of unclaimed assets is a mix of quantities of assets and also multi-currency dollar valued assets. Often the dollar valued asset is just the tip of the iceberg, it might represent part of a larger total asset value. Our no win no fee service includes identifying, consolidating and recovering the total assets in your favour for an agreed fee.
